The Bible Hub website and app are so outstanding it's top of this otherwise alphabetical list! Useful for students and leaders alike, Bible Hub has a wealth of resources for growing. Two especially helpful tools are "Parallel" (the Bible in multiple English translations) and "Interlinear" (translation of the original Hebrew and Greek). From "Interlinear," many linked features permit word studies, including Strong's and Englishman's.

The Action Bible presents the Bible's main narrative accounts in graphic novel format. This book doesn't replace Scripture, but is an excellent "big picture" study aid, covering the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Designed with children in mind, it is also helpful for adults who would benefit from this format (and is a work of art in its own right!). In English or Spanish.

Who determines what is canonical Scripture? The Bible itself answers this fundamental question. (Spoiler alert: it's neither religious tradition nor popular opinion.)

In this readable two-page paper, Paul Sullivan compiles what Scripture asserts and explains regarding the Bible's canonicity.

Understanding these things helps us grasp just how carefully God's words have been handed down through time.

Families Where Grace Is in Place

Written from a counselor's perspective, this book explains the "how" of Christian behavior flowing from gospel grace (Ro 6:14). As such, it helps us put Bible study into practice. God intends us to use his law against our sinful natures. We dare not turn his gospel that produces free obedience into a new law! Written with families in mind, its lessons are also applicable to many roles in life.

A Harmony

of the Gospels

The Holy Spirit inspired four separate records of Jesus' life and ministry. Synchronizing, or harmonizing, them helps us see which gospel accounts are parallel. It can also aid in understanding the big picture. (Example: At what points did Jesus withdraw from public ministry... and why?) Paul Sullivan created this harmony as an aid to both narrow and broad learning. Compact enough to fold inside a Bible cover, it makes a wonderful reference.

James Tissot's painting The Prophecy of the Destruction of the Temple

James Tissot

Artwork by James Tissot (1836–1902) is in the public domain. His evocative paintings bring Bible scenes to life: a wonderful addition to bulletins, projections, and teaching material!

Tissot's work has flaws (his European Catholic background creeps into portrayals of Jesus' life; the Jewish clothing depicted is from his own era). But Tissot strove for authenticity, traveling to Palestine to study the area and its people.

Work this exercise independently, or use it with a Bible group as a fun interactive study. Calculators are permitted. ;)

Scriptural Basis for Passion Chronology

Do the gospels really agree on the historical timeline of Jesus' passion? They certainly do! Paul Sullivan's chart presents Bible verses which establish the time frame of these triumphant ten days, along with Jewish historians' explanations of ways the word "Passover" was used to refer to different aspects of the festival.

Follow steps 1–13 to witness the Bible's detailed precision foretelling and recording Christ's breathtaking victory over our sin.

Secular Rule in Palestine

How did Julius Caesar's assassination lead to Herod the Great ruling Judea? Is Luke's dating of Tiberius' reign accurate? Answers to these and other questions are revealed in Paul Sullivan's thorough, easy-to-read chart of the human rulers God allowed worldly power—all in order to spread his kingdom.

"The scepter will not depart from Judah… until he to whom it belongs shall come and the obedience of the nations shall be his."
